Typically some progress is seen within 6 treatment sessions. Progress can be measured by many number of things, including strength, transfer ability, balance, increased participation with stepping, etc. If no progress is made initially, we recommend the therapist revisit her protocol and make adjustments to the parameters. The parameters are 1) facilitation provided by the therapist, 2) speed of the treadmill, and 3) amount of weight support provided by the device. A patient who continues to make progress would be appropriate to continue training in LiteGait. Of course, in the therapy world, when a patient ceases to make progress that is measurable by the therapist's standards, then discharge may be considered. Best of luck to you!
how many sessions before improvements in lite gait treadmill should be noted? my daughter's physio is only willing to try 5 sessions over 5 weeks and if she is not happy she will not let her continue! i imagine one can only benefit from this therapy no matter what the condition? my daugher has spastic quadriplegia and i want her to do this on an ongoing basis.
