I just want to say thank you for sharing with us the story when you used LG in critical care in your hospital. I guess, it is better if you also included how you used it, I mean the overall therapy program. This form of intervention provides the best chance for patients of any diagnosis and functional level to improve their performance thanks to the wide range of balance therapy systems.

A group of therapists in our facility recently used the LiteGait on a patient who has been on our cardiac critical care for a long time and has made significant gain in just one week after using the LiteGait. He is in the hospital because of cardiogenic shock and is waiting for heart transplant. Because he's so deconditioned with significant myopathy, his mobility was limited to transfer and standing at bedside. The transplant team would not consider surgery if he couldn't walk (with at least a walker). That prompted us to start using the LiteGait. We started using it last Monday, the patient was a little nervous initially but was excited about the idea of "walking". He tolerated about 20 ft with moderate body weight support. It gave him such a positive experience and he loved the LiteGait so much. The second day he was so looking forward to us coming. I didn't follow him for the rest of the week but when I talked with the primary therapists today, they said he was able to walk with a walker without the LiteGait! Everyone on the unit including doctors and nurses were very impressed and appreciative. The patient wouldn't have been able to regain his 'walking" ability this soon if LiteGait was not used.

I would like to hear more stories about the use of LiteGait in critical care or acute care, as there are still limited research in this patient population!
