| If you are already have a treadmill and are trying to add a LiteGait, there is an attached form that helps you determine the appropriateness of the treadmill. However, if you are asking if you can buy a different treadmill than GaitKeeper, the answer is yes. You need certain features (built into the GaitKeeper) in your treadmill. No side rails just the short open end handlebars. The larger the width of the treadmill the bigger the base of the LiteGait so get a treadmill without too much extra straddle room. need a very slow or zero start if using it with neuro patients. GaitKeeper also has a feature that is not present in any of the other treadmills and that is the electronics (console) is movable and can go to where the therapist is so changing speed or incline or stopping does not require you to stop facilitation. The console also reads the distance walked in feet. A 20 inch belt is better than anything less and the treadmill should not go over 29 inch if it does a larger base for LG is needed. The effective belt length needs to be sufficient. look over the form I have attached and you will see the parameter of importance. If you have any doubts just share the model number of what you are trying to buy with Sales staff and they will let you know how well it would work.
