It would be appropriate to get approval from the Ortho MD, but beyond that Mobility Research says that you can safely use the LG harness over the TLSO. You would need to add some soft material such as towels or foam over the brace in order to give the harness something to grip. You could also try dycem to decrease the amount of riding up that will occur.
In the case of the patient with mets, Mobility Research would agree that this is a contraindication and that use of the LG would not be appropriate at this time.

I thought mets to the spinal is a contraindication as the weight redistributes to the spine. MDs need to clear for spinal loading prior to using LG. I haven't used LG on a patient with CTLSO, I don't think I would be comfortable especially I know there are mets to the spine. Any other thoughts? How about a TLSO on patient s/p fusion?

Going along with the question about precautions/contraindications. Are there any restrictions for a patient who has a CTLSO and beyond this someone has has metatstatic disease to the vertebral spine in the thoracic region? Thanks.
