On one side the LiteGait there are two (2) Total-Locking casters and on the other there are two (2) Directional-Locking casters. The Total-Locking casters, when locked, prevent the casters from rolling AND swiveling. Where as, the Directional-Locking casters, when locked, prevent the caster from swiveling but will continue to be able to roll.

When preparing to move a patient, in the LiteGait, onto your treadmill align the LiteGait directly in front of the treadmill and lock the Directional casters only. With the directional casters locked the LiteGait will now only go straight forward and straight backwards. Roll the LiteGait over the treadmill, once the LiteGait is in place lock the Total-Locking casters.

(Proceed with treatment)

When ready to remove the LiteGait from the treadmill, release the Total-Locking casters only; keep the Directional casters locked. Push the LiteGait towards the side with the Directional casters while pushing/pulling the LiteGait off of the treadmill. The Total casters will pivot away from the Directional casters and the treadmill allowing you to roll the LiteGait straight off. Once the LiteGait it off of the treadmill you may unlock the Directional casters to move the LiteGait freely.

I am having problems removing the LiteGait from the treadmill. Rolling it on is easy, but when I try to roll it off, the wheels turn inward and run into the treadmill. Am I doing something wrong?
